Audible alarm for BNWAS range

The audible sounder, with a switch selectable audio level of 85 or 120dB, will alert crew members capable of taking corrective action in case of  BNWAS alarm activation.

Suitable for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd stage alarm used with the X150 and X810 systems

Technical Information

The SND-0003 alarm sounders are used for the 2nd or 3rd stage alarms and have an adjustable volume between 85 and 105 dB.

The BNWAS alarm sounders will be configured in Bridge area(s) and officer Cabins in remote locations, including passenger area(s), engine control room, and officer mess.

The Alarm sounders are tone-selectable during commissioning to differentiate between different alarm sounds.

Additional Information – MSC 86 legal background

A Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) has to be installed as follows:

• Ships of 150 gross tonnage and upwards and passenger ships irrespective of size constructed on or after 1st July 2011;
• Passenger ships irrespective of size constructed 1st July 2011. Not later than the first survey after 1st July 2011;
• Ships of 3,000 gross tonnages and upwards constructed before 1st July 2011, Not later than the first survey after 1st July 2012;
• Ships of 500 gross tonnages and upwards but less than 3,000 gross tonnages constructed before 1st July 2011. Not later than the first survey after 1st July 2013;
• Vessels of 150 gross tonnages and upwards but less than 500 gross tonnages constructed before 1st July 2011. Not later than the first survey after 1st July 2014;

**Please note that the LR Module D certificate has expired on this BNWAS system and that Module B will expire for new installs from Wednesday, 21^st June 2023. We are currently looking at BAM compliance for this system but will keep you advised on progress with this via the website.**
