Walker 7070 W MK 2 Electromagnetic Speed Log

SKU: JLG-0001

Building on the reliable and high-quality Walker 7070 (Mk2), Walker wind and weather devices can be fitted to form an integrated system 7070 W (Mk2) suitable for both commercial and military applications.

It is an integrated log, wind and weather system with a true wind option (P1066).

The vessel’s speed and distance travelled are derived from a Walker electromagnetic (EM) log sensor, and the calibration of the speed log may be performed using the ship’s GPS or known speed method.

A comprehensive range of Walker wind and weather sensors come with dedicated displays to suit the different requirements. In addition, a combined wind and weather sensor P1003 is available, requiring a single cable to display a true wind unit in the bridge.

Wind speed and direction are derived from input relative wind NMEA serial data. The optional True wind data can be calculated given suitable inputs.

The weather data functions include measurement of barometric pressure, barometric pressure trend, air temperature, and humidity by sensors housed in a single tower and optional water temperature via a sensor installed in a seawater inlet pipe.

This compact, cost-effective system uses state-of-the-art electronics to process log, wind and weather sensor inputs and outputs serial data on IEC61162-1 (NMEA 0183) to other equipment.

Log, wind, and weather elements may be specified separately or in various combinations.
