X991-N – Navigation Display for SMIDS

The main display for the SMIDS system

The X991-N displays the fundamental information derived from the SMIDS sensors. Including geographical position, individual bow and stern athwart ship speeds, fore/aft speed, date and time.

The X991-N has a high-brightness display with dimmer controls and an optional night filter. It has a landscape display orientation.

Display Information

TRANSVERSE MOVEMENT AND SHIPS LONGITUDINAL MOVEMENT DISPLAY.

1. Shows the speed in knots athwartships at the Bow
2. Shows the speed in knots athwartships at the Stern
3. Also, it shows the speed in knots forward and astern in the direction of the ship’s Bow
4. The distance displayed is derived from the speed over the ground in the direction of the bow
5. Total Distance Run

POSITION AND STATUS INDICATIONS DISPLAY.

1. Shows the position latitude and longitude.
2. Indicates the location of the sensor used. (STERN or GEOLOG)
3. Time UTC.
4. COG – Course Over Ground
5. SOG – Speed Over Ground
6. HOOP – Horizontal Dilution of Precision
7. A total combination of GPS and GLONASS satellites acquired
8. Position – STANDARD, DIFFerential or NO FIX
9. System status

SPEED/EM LOG (DUAL AXIS IF AVAILABLE) SPEED INDICATIONS DISPLAY.

1. Displays the speed in knots forward and astern in the direction of the ship’s Bow
2. Shows the speed in knots athwartships
3. The distance displayed is derived from the speed from the log
4. The total Run displayed is derived from the speed from the log
