X160 Bridge Watch Alarm – BNWAS

The X160 Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) guards users against the duty officer unintentionally losing alertness.

By demanding action regularly, there is a reduced chance of accidents and guaranteed awareness.

New regulations from IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) will require a BNWAS to comply with IMO performance standards. The X160 BNWAS is type-approved according to the Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm Systems legislation, as laid down by the IMO in resolution 128(75) and IEC 62616.

Because of its approvals, all ships can install the X160 BNWAS.

System Main Unit MAR-0001 / MS421B

The MS 421B has integrated communication to VDR, and the autopilot connects to the BNWAS. Users expand the system with remote reset buttons and PIRs. A selection unit is also an option to regulate the different officers on duty. The optional units are small and easy to install.

BNWAS Cabin Selector Switch MAR-0007 / MS422

The MS 422 is an optional selector device for the Marble MS421B bridge nautical watch alarm system. Using this device, you can select which backup officer is to be alarmed in case of emergencies.

BNWAS Alarm Buzzer MAR-0004 / MS410

BNWAS Remote Reset Button MAR-0005 / MS411

The MS 411 is the remote reset panel for resetting the BNWAS in different places on the Bridge. This device is for Bridge use only.

NMEA Activation Unit MAR-0008 / MS425B

When the autopilot does not provide an “autopilot engaged” hard output, the MS425B NMEA Activation Unit works as an additional input.

The user can select these features by a dipswitch mounted inside the MS425B NMEA Activation Unit.
