A rugged, sometimes known as a ruggedized tablet, is a tablet specifically designed to reliably operate in harsh environments and conditions. These conditions can be where strong vibrations, extreme temperatures and wet or dusty conditions are present.

Rugged and ultra-rugged tablets are designed to withstand the rigours of mother nature both externally and internally – the exterior housing and interior components have been manufactured and tested to the highest standard.
