Portascanner 520 Ultrasonic Room Integrity Tester
The Portascanner 520® is an ultrasonic room integrity tester, specialising in identifying major leak sites in special hazard rooms.
THREE CORE BENEFITS
1. WORLD-CLASS ACCURACY
The most accurate unit of its type locating a leak site via visual and audible readings and identifying its extent with a definitive numerical result. Can test leaks as small as 0.06mm. Compared to the rival puffer test technology which is a purely visual inspection.
2. QUICK & EASY TO USE
It is a simple system, that is both easy to learn and operate. Testing can be completed quickly by one person and can also be done without disrupting the building occupants, unlike smoke puffer tests which involve evacuating a building or room.
3. NON DESTRUCTIVE & CLEAN
The Portascanner™ 520 is a completely clean and damage-free technology, which can be used in the sensitive environments clean agent systems operate in.
COMPLYING WITH REGULATIONS FOR CLEAN AGENT FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS
CURRENT SITUATION: Before installing Clean Agent fire suppression systems the integrity of the building structure commonly undergoes “Door Fan Testing’. This test determines the Peak Pressure and Agent Hold Time necessary for ensuring the effectiveness of these fire suppression systems. As required by NFPA 2001 and ISO 14520 standards to calculate the overall leakage of a room.LIMITATIONS: Locating exact leak sites is currently done by a “puffer test” with smoke. However, such current methods do not provide precise, accurate results on leak location or size.
SOLUTION: Today, the industry can benefit from using the Portascanner™ Integrity Test Indicator alongside the Door Fan Testing for a complete and comprehensive regulatory room test. Ideal for precise leak detection, Portascanner™ is exceptionally accurate (to 0.06mm) and fast method. It is the first of its kind, intuitive to use, non-invasive, and consequently, is of immediate use to the Fire Industry.
Package1. Receiver Rod – The user directs the rod at areas they wish to survey. Any escaping ultrasound if received by the rod and sent to the main unit.
2. Headphones – Any ultrasound that is identified by the unit is outputted as audible readings via external headphones.
3. Receiver – The receiver processes and displays any ultrasound emitted from a leaking space. The results are visually presented to the user on the user on an internal screen as well as outputted to external headphones.
4. Generator – The generator is an ultrasonic generator with three transducers. The transducers emit a strong signal in one direction that fills the room/space with pulses of ultrasound.
