The Hydrostatic Release Unit is a device that releases the AMI Float free capsule when submerged in saltwater.

Unlike contactless release designs, the AMI Float free Capsule is hardwired to ensure the avoidance of connectivity problems. Extreme weather and high salinity environments can be challenging at the best of times for electrical equipment, but the AMI design guarantees safe and continual recording of data.
